Thomas M. Lenney
Thomas M. Lenney, Esq. began his
legal career in 1995 litigating admiralty and maritime matters in the
United States District Court for the Eastern District of
Michigan. He has practiced law in New Jersey since 1996 in the
areas of general civil litigation and corporate matters. His
practice primarily consists of representation of small to mid-size New
Jersey private sector entities that rely on him to serve their diverse
day-to-day needs
including employment issues, as well as their extraordinary demands,
such as buying, selling, leasing, raising capital or other financing,
and crisis management.
Today, he regularly appears in the
Chancery Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey handling
corporate buy-out actions and shareholder disputes. Mr. Lenney
has also recently built a substantial residential and commercial real
estate practice including land use and real estate development and
redevelopment. A recent matter representative of Mr. Lenney’s
practice is the successful defense of a multi-million dollar minority
shareholder oppression and wrongful discharge action on behalf of a
national entertainment company.
He was selected as a
New Jersey Super Lawyers "Rising Star" in August 2007 and named a New
Jersey Monthly's Top Young Lawyers in New Jersey in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Mr. Lenney received his J.D. from
the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1995, where he was a
Member of the National Moot Court trial team and also participated in
the prestigious Inns of Court program, and his B.A. from Providence
College in 1992.
